Abstract

Objective:To study FADD expression in ovarian cancer, discuss its function and clinical significance in occurrence and development of ovarian cancer, judge malignant degree and estimate prognosis. Methods:The expression of FADD were detected in immunohistochemical method in 62 cases of ovarian cancer,15 cases of benign tumor and 16 cases of normal tissue. To analyze clinical pathological data of ovary cancer.Results:①Positive expression rate of FADD was 87.5%.and 73.3% and 32.3% in normal ovarian tissue and in ovarian benign tumor and in ovarian cancer respectively. There was significance in the positive expression rate between normal ovarian tissue and ovarian cancer(P0.01).It was also significant between ovarian benign tumor and ovarian cancer(P0.01).While it was not significant between normal ovarian tissue and ovarian benign tumor(P0.05).②Each specimen positive expression rate was low and regard weak positive as principle(36 cases),middle positive 11cases,strong positive 0 case.③There was obvious difference of FADD positive expression rates in four FIGO stage(P0.05).In addition FADD positive expression rate is negative to clinical analysis(P0.001).④The rates in moderately differentiation and poorly differentiation were evidently lower than that in well-differentiation.The difference was significant.⑤The positive rate in serous cystadenocarcinoma was 31.8 % and 33.3% in non-serous cystadenocarcinoma respectively. The difference between them was not evident(P0.05).Conclusion:FADD play an important part in the occurrence and development of ovarian cancer. We judge malignant degree of the tumor and estimate ovarian cancer prognosis on the basis of positive expression rate.FADD will provide new way of future gene therapy for ovarian cancer.
