Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression of CD44v6 in ovarian cancer and the relation between its expression and the prognosis. Methods Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)was used to investigate the expression of CD44v6 in 50 cases of ovarian cancer,10 cases of premalignant tumor of the ovary,10 cases of benign ovarian tumor and 10 cases of normal tissue. Results ①The positive expression rate of CD44v6 in ovarian cancer was 95.45%,higher than that in premalignant tumor of the ovary(60%)(P0.05),significantly higher than that in benign ovarian tumor(20%)and normal tissue(0%)(P0.01).②The relative amount of CD44v6 and the epidermis ovarian cancer differentiation degree assumed the inverse proportion, and presented a positive correlation with the staging.③ The relative amount of CD44v6 and patient's life assumed the inverse proportion.④The analysis of multivariate Cox proportional hazard regression model indicated that the relative amount of CD44v6 had independent influence on prognosis of ovarian cancer. Conclusion The positive expression rate of CD44v6 in ovarian cancer is high, and the relative amount of CD44v6 mRNA in ovarian is correlated with the histology grade, clinical stage, and lymph node metastasis, which might be the index of the prognosis.
