Abstract

Objective To study the relationship between the expression of Laminin(LN)?type Ⅳ collagen(CⅣ) in basement membrane and the biological behavior of the laryngeal papilloma and it's malignant change. Methods Immunoperoxidase(S P) staining method was used to investigate the distribution of LN?CⅣ in 10 cases of laryngeal polyp,23 cases of laryngeal papilloma and 12 cases of laryngeal carcinoma. Results There was significantly difference among laryngeal polyp, laryngeal papilloma and larygneal carcinoma in the expression of LN?CⅣ,( P 0.05),and marked difference was found between lymph node positive and negative cases.Obvious difference in the expression of LN?CⅣ was found between the laryngeal carcinoma patients surviving more than 3 years and those died within 0.5 year( P 0.01).Conclusion The expressions of LN?CⅣ are related to the histological grading and lymph node metastasis. Both may be as the predictors for prognosis of laryngeal papilloma and it's malignant change.
