Abstract
Objective To investigate the expressions of laminin(LN) and matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9) in laryngeal carcinoma and its relationship with the biological behavior in laryngeal carcinoma and to research the mechanism of carcinogenesis;we also analyze the correlation between LN and MMP-9.Methods The technology of immunohistochemistry SP was used to detect the expressions of LN and MMP-9 in the 46 cases of laryngeal carcinoma and those in 30 cases normal mucosa respectively. In addition, several clinic pathological features were analyzed. Results The positive expression rates of LN and MMP-9 in laryngeal carcinoma were 73.9%and 70% respectively, higher than those of being 23.3% and 16.7% in normal laryngeal tissues. In laryngeal carcinoma, the intensive expression rates of LN and MMP-9 had a positive relationship with the situation of cervical lymph node matastasis.Significant correlation was found between the expression of LN and that of MMP-9 in laryngeal carcinoma. Conclusion LN and MMP-9 show positive expressions in laryngeal carcinoma. The degree of expressions of LN and MMP-9 have relevance to the degree of differentiation, clinical stage and cervical lymph node matastasis of laryngeal carcinoma. The expressions of LN and MMP-9 in laryngeal carcinoma were positively correlated, playing synergistic effect during the process of occurrence and metastasis of laryngeal carcinoma.
