EXPRESSION OF p27kip1 AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE IN LARYNGEAL CARCINOMA

Abstract

Objective:To determine the prognostic value of immunohistochemical staining of p27kip1 in laryngeal carcinoma.Methods:44 paraffin embeded laryngeal carcinoma tissues were immunohistochemically stained.Results:The results showed that lower p27kip1 expression was detected in 27 cases(61.4 %).T 1～2 was evidently lower than T 3～4 (72.7 %).Those with lymph node involvement (80.8 %) was nore than those without lymph node involvement (33.3 %). Those relationship was statistically significant ( P 0.05).Conclusion:The results suggested that immunohistochemical staining of p27kip1 may be a valuable prognostic factor in laryngeal carcinoma.
