Abstract
Metaphor is pervasive in every aspects of human life. However, metaphor is not only rhetorical device, also the part of cognition as perceptual and conceptualizing means for perceiving the surrounding environment which is regarded as thebridge for cross-culture. Metaphor as the essence of bilingua cognition is further elaborated from cross-culture metaphor's nature, features and the significance of understanding.
