Abstract
Metaphor is pervasive in every aspects of human life.However,metaphor is not only rhetorical device,also the part of cognition as perceptual and conceptualizing means for perceiving the surrounding environment which is regarded as thebridgefor cross-culture.Metaphor as the essence of bilingua cognition is further elaborated from cross-culture metaphor’s nature,fea tures and the significance of understanding.
