Abstract

Zhenong 8010A is a good grain quality indica CMS line with low amylose content. Its main grain quality characters reached the second class standards of fine quality rice issued by Chinese Ministry of Agriculture. It possesses stable sterility with 100% of sterile plants, 99.97% of pollen sterility and 100% of spikelet sterility. It shows high outcrossing rate (41.88%) and stigma exsertion rate (53.1%). The resistance of diseases of it is superior to that of Xieqingzao A. Because of its characteristic of low amylose content (11.9%), it might be used to improve grain quality of the existing indica hybrid rice.
