Effect Evaluation on Supplementary Immunization of Live Attenuated Measles Virus Vaccine in Yuxi City in 2008

[Objective]To analyze the effect of supplementary immunization of live attenuated measles virus vaccine (MV) in Yuxi city in 2008,summarize experience and provide the basis for making focused immunization strategy of measles control and elimination.[Methods]The data of MV field inoculation,investigation,evaluation report and notifiable disease reports were analyzed synthetically.[Results]434 142 children aged 8 months to 14 years in the area received MV supplementary immunization with the reported vaccination rate of 97.35%,and the reported vaccination rate of every county (district) and age stages was above 95% and 97% respectively.The immunization coverage rate of rapid evaluation was 99.22%,and that of different age stages of every county (district) was above 95%.From December 1,2008 to May 31,2009,17 measles confirmed cases were reported with decreasing year-on-year by 9 cases,and the incidence of measles decreased 34.43%.[Conclusion]After implementation of MV supplementary immunization,the incidence of measles decreased significantly in Yuxi city.The implementation of MV supplementary immunization can achieve immunization coverage among large crowd in a short period,control and reduce measles cases.Ensuring routine immunization of HV 2 dose is the base for measles control and elimination,and the surveillance with high quality is the key.
