Abstract

[Objective] To survey features and pathological types of glomerular diseases. [Methods] Between August 2005 and May 2007 in our center, 362 cases of percutaneous renal biopsy were performed. The pathologic entities were analyzed retrospectively and the clinical pathological characteristics of renal diseases were concluded. [Results] Primary glomerulardiseases accounted for 79.01%. Secondary glomerular diseases accounted for 15.47%. Hereditary glomerular diseases accounted for 1.1%. In primary glomerular diseases, IgA nephropathy (IgAN), mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis, minimal change disease, membrane nephropathy, is accounted for 30.94%, 14.36%, 13.81%, 11.87%, respectively. In secondary glomerular diseases, lupus nephritis (LN), HBV-associated nephritis, Henoch- Schonlein purpura nephritis, accounted for 5.8%, 3.6%, 3.3%, respectively. Clinical features included nephritic syndrome (43.09%), nephrotic syndrome (53.61%), acute renal failure (3.3%). [Conclusions] Primary glomerular disease was the most common renal disease occurred in patients. IgAN was predominant. LN was the most common in secondary glomerular diseases. Female was predominant. An increment of percentage was found in other secondary glomerular diseases. Renal biopsy is very necessary.
