The role of the government in the harmonious society should be determined on the basis of the role of the general government,yet with a new breakthrough.The government is no longer the only provider of public goods,but shoulders the responsibility for other sources of supply for public goods.The government should be the defender of social justice including economic interests and political rights.It should be the guarantor for the protection of ecological balance.In the governance model,the government is the governor with equal emphasis on virtue and law.What's more,because of the systematic nature of management the government must also be the practitioner of harmonious management.
