Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the efficacy of azithromycin in the treatment of mycoplasmal pneumonia in children,and evaluate the safety in clinical medication.METHODS A total of 92children with mycoplasmal pneumonia were randomly divided into two groups:azithromycin group and erythromycin group,with 46children in each group.Besides the basic symptomatic treatment of reducing temperature and stopping coughing,children in Azithromycin group were additionally administrated with 9mg/(kg·d)azithromycin via intravenous drip,once a day.Children in erythromycin group were additionally administrated with 30mg/(kg·d)erythromycin via intravenous drip,once a day.All children were treated for seven days.Changes in fever,cough,and physical signs of lung between the two groups were compared,the adverse drug reactions of all children were observed,and the efficacy was also evaluated.RESULTS No statistical difference in age,gender,body weight and course of disease between the two groups was observed(P0.05).The time of reducing temperature,stopping coughing and disappearance of moist rale in azithromycin group were all significantly shorter than thuxe in erythromycin group(P0.05).The clinical recovery rate and the effective rate for azithromycin group were 63.04% and 93.48%, which were statistically higher than those for erythromycin group of 39.13%and 67.39%(P0.01,P0.05). The incidence rate of adverse drug reaction in azithromycin group was 6.52%(3/46),which was significantly lower than that of 39.13%(18/46)in erythromycin group(P0.05).CONCLUSION Azithromycin is effective and safe in the treatment of mycoplasmal pneumonia in children with less adverse drug reactions,thus it is worthy of use in clinic.
