Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical effectiveness of treatment of femoral neck fracture by application of cannulated screw after reduction. Methods Forty-one cases of the femoral neck fracture were treated with cannulated screw after reduction, and classified into type Ⅰ(2 patients),type Ⅱ(12 patients),type Ⅲ(20 patients) and type Ⅳ(7 patients) according to Garden. Results All the patients were followed up for 12-40 months, with an average of 26 months.Thirty-eight patients achieved bone union after surgery,2 cases had delayed bone healing, and 1 had head collapse. Conclusion This method of internal fixation with closed reduction and hollow compression screw is simple and effective, which has little interference with the blood supply to the fractured femoral head.
