Protective Effects of Puerarin Injection on Liver Injury Induced by Intestinal Ischemia Reperfusion in Mice

Abstract

Objective: To investigate the protective effects of puerarin injection on intestinal ischemia reperfusion(I/R) induced injury of liver in mice.Methods: Mice were randomly divided into five groups as sham,model and puerarin injection(100,150 and 200 mg/kg) groups.Intestinal I/R models were established by clamping superior mesenteric artery for 20 min and reperfusing for 60 min.Then liver tissue samples were collected,then the SOD activity and content of MDA in liver tissue were determined.Histomorphological changes of liver tissue were observed with light microscope.Results: Puerarin injection could increase SOD activity,and decrease the content of MDA in liver tissue.Puerarin injection could attenuate liver tissue injury,as identified by microscopic examination of histomorphology.Conclusion: Puerarin injection can protect the liver of mice from injury induced by intestinal I/R.
