Abstract
【Objective】To study the changes in blood platelet count(PLT) and mean platelet volume(MPV) and to approach their clinical significance for cerebral apoplexy in acute stage.【Methods】PLT and MPV of brain hemorrhage patients and brain infarction patients were detected and compared with normal control.【Results】MPV increased extremely(P0.001) and PLT decreased significantly(P0.05) in cerebral apoplexy in acute stage. There was no significant difference in PLT(P0.05) and MPV(P0.05) between cerebral hemorrhage group and cerebral infarction group in acute stage.【Conclusion】 The decrease of PLT is relevant to its massive consumption in acute stage of cerebral apoplexy.MPV is an independent risk factor of cerebral apoplexy. The increment of MPV indicates that cerebrovascular disease is very severe and should be treated immediately,so it has clinical significance for prevention, treatment and prognosis.
