Abstract
Huang Tao was famous, in late Tang Dynasty,for his great number of poems and their influence to the literary world. His poems provide an excellent database for the study of the phonetic system in that peri- od, Based on a thorough review of the rhyming feature in his poems,the present paper attempts to testify the reliability of Wang Li's study of the phonetic system from late Tang Dynasty to Wudai Dynasty. Wang Tao's poem also present the phonetic features of the spoken language of the time, and is of great value to further studies.
