Abstract

Objective To investigate the distribution and drug resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa(PAE) in nosocomial infections in order to provide scientific evidence for the rational use of antibiotics. Methods Drug sensitivity testing was performed on PAE isolated from clinical specimens using the broth microdilution test and its drug resistance was examined. Results In total,1 121 strains of PAE were mainly isolated from the intensive care unit(ICU) and departments of respiratory medicine, rehabilitation, and neurology.PAE was mainly isolated from sputum(about 69% of specimens).Sensitivity testing with 12 types of antibiotics showed that PAE was sensitive to ceftazidime(84.2%) and piperacillin/tazobactam(82.1%).PAE's sensitivity to aztreonam, gentamicin, piperacillin, cefepime, ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, and imipenem was about 50%-60% and tended to decline. Its sensitivity to trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole and ampicillin/sulbactam was only 3.6% and 1.6%,respectively.Conclusion PAE drug resistance is very serious.Clinicians should use antibiotics rationally in accordance with the results of drug susceptibility tests.
