Abstract

OBJECTIVE By studying the changes in drug resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa(PAE) isolated from emergency department,to guide the correct use of antibiotics and provide evidence for nosocomial infection control.METHODS Atoal of 110 strains of PAE from ICU were isolated from 2006 to 2008.Drug sensitivity to 15 kinds of antibiotics were tested by disk diffusion and the results were analyzed.RESULTS Among the 110 strains of PAE the drug resistance rates to amikacin,ceftazidime,cefoperazone/sulbactam,piperacillin/tazobactam,ciprofloxacin,cefepime,imipenem,meropenem,aztreonam,piperacillin,levofloxacin,tobramycin,netilmicin,gentamicin,and cefoperazone, were respectively 15.5%,19.1%,22.7%,30.0%,30.9%,32.7%,35.5%,36.4%,37.3%,38.2%,39.1%,40.0%,41.8%,44.5% and 49.1%.CONCLUSIONS PAE isolated from emergency department ward has lower resistance to amikacin and ceftazidime. Its resistance rate to β-lactam antibiotics become higher and higher in the last three years.
