Abstract

Objective:To explore the value of ultrasound and barium meal examination in diagnosis of cardia cancer. Methods:The comparison with ultrasound and barium meal examination was made in 68 patients who were confirmed to be cardia cancer by gastroscope biopsy or operation. Results:The diagnostic accordance rate of ultrasound and barium meal examination to cardia cancer were 86.8%,92.6%,and there were no obvious difference. To early phase of cardia cancer, the diagnostic accordance rate of barium meal examination was 77.3% and higher than that of ultrasound which was 59.1%.But ultrasound had obvious preponderance in observation of carcinoma infiltration to circumferential tissue and distance metastases. Conclusion:Combine the two dimensional ultrasonography and digital gastrointestinal study to diagnose cardia cancer,it can provide comprehensive information for clinic, and has significant value in clinical decision and selecting operation program.
