Abstract

A method for the determination of trace silver in geochemical samples by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry was studied.The samples were digested by hydrochloric acid,nitric acid,sulfuric acid,and perchloric acid.In 1.2mol/L HCl medium,butyl acetate and diphenylthiourea chelates were used for the extraction of silver and then the content of trace silver was determined by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry.The detection limit was 0.011ng/mL,and the relative standard deviation(RSD,n=11)was 6.0% ~12.2% with 96.0% ~105.00% recovery.It can meet the accuracy and precision requirements for the determination of silver in the range ofω(Ag)was 0.02 to 5μg/g in geochemical samples.
