Abstract

Seventy-nine pairs of simple sequence repeats(SSR) primers were used to study the genetic diversity of forty-six registered wheat cultivars of Henan Province. The results show that the 79 pairs of primers produced a total of 298 polymorphic amplified fragments. The average number of alleles per SSR locus was 3.77 ranging from 2 to 7.Twenty-eight cultivars had one or more special alleles, and some SSR loci had more special alleles too.The polymorphism information content(PIC) of the SSR loci varied from 0.04 to 0.82 with an average of 0.49.Genetic similarities among the 46 cultivars ranged from 0.33 to 0.84 with an average of 0.50.The cluster analysis divided the cultivars into 6 groups and eight sub-groups,which could distinguish the characters of the cultivars and reveal the relationship among them.
