GOLDEN PIPELINE ENGINEERING CROSSING THROUGH JINTANG BEIHE RIVER BY WAY OF SHAFT TUNNEL

Abstract

An advanced shaft tunnel crossing technology was used in the construction of the golden gas pipeline's crossing through Beihe river at Jintang in Chengdu plain.This pipeline is used to transport the natural gas from the Xinchang gas field in Deyang to Chengdu.By laying the gas pipeline in the shafts on the both banks of the Beihe river and in the horizontal lane under the bottom of the river,it was successfully crossed through the Beihe river at Jintang,which has running water throughout the year,and both depth of the shafts and length of the horizontal lane have set a record in Southwest China.In this paper,the survey,design and construction,especially the technical measures and methods adopted in the construction are emphatically presented.As compared with coffer method,this crossing technology has the advantages of cutting down investment and being easy to the management,maintenance and control of the pipeline on stream period.The shortcoming of this technology is that the construction time is relatively long,thus,the unit in charge of construction must try to solve this problem in adopting this crossing technology.
