Observations on the Efficacy of Electroacupuncture at Affected Soft Tissue plus Pricking-cupping Bloodletting in Treating Scapulohumeral Periarthritis

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of electroacupuncture at affected soft tissue plus pricking-cupping bloodletting in treating scapulohumeral periarthritis.Method Eighty patients with scapulohumeral periarthritis were randomly allocated to two groups,40 cases each.The treatment group received electroacupuncture at affected soft tissue plus pricking-cupping bloodletting and the control group,conventional acupuncture plus cupping.Result The cure rate was 67.5% in the treatment group and 37.5% in the control group.The cure rate was higher in the treatment group than in the control group(P0.01).After the first course of treatment,the cured cases occupied 70.4% in the treatment group and 33.3% in the control group;it was higher in the treatment group than in the control group(P0.05).Conclusion The cure rate of electroacupuncture at affected soft tissue plus pricking-cupping bloodletting is higher than that of conventional acupuncture plus cupping after the first course of treatment and at the end of treatment.
