Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of hyperfractioned radiotherapy for esophageal cancer radiotherapy and acute radiation reaction. Methods: 56 patients with esophageal cancer were randomly divided into hyperfractionated radiotherapy(HF) group and conventional radiotherapy(CF) group, using 6 MV linear accelerator(the middle of the chest an illicit sexual relations back two oblique field) irradiation. Results: The hyperfractionated radiotherapy group 1,2,3 year survival rates were 75.0%,53.6% and 39.2% respectively, significantly superior to conventional fractionated radiotherapy group of 46.4%,28.6% and 21.4%(P0.05);hyperfractionated radiotherapy group 1,2,3 year local control rates were 82.1%,67.9% and 46.4% respectively, significantly higher than conventional radiotherapy group of 53.6%,32.1% and 21.4%(P0.05),and early complications of acute radiation reaction was no significant difference(P0.05).Hyperfractionated radiotherapy and conventional radiotherapy group of those who died due to local recurrence were 64.7% and 69.6%,there was no significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion: Hyperfractionated radiation therapy can significantly improve local control and survival rates of esophageal cancer, and not increase in patients with acute radiation response, the tolerance is good,it is a safe and effective method, and worthy of promotion.
