Abstract
[Objective] To evaluate the feasibility of hyperfractionated radiotherapy in combination with concurrent chemotherapy treatment for stage Ⅲb cervical carcinoma.[Methods] 45 cases of cervical cancer stage Ⅲb period prospective were randomly divided into two groups. The efficacy and side effects were compared between hyperfractionated radiotherapy in combination with concurrent chemotherapy group(hyperfractionated radiotherapy group) and conventional radiation therapy plus concurrent chemotherapy group(conventional fraction group).Univariate and multivariate analysis estimated the impact of hy-perfractionated radiotherapy.[Results] Skin reaction in the hyperfractionated radiotherapy group were more severe than in the conventional fraction group(P﹤0.01),but no significant difference were observed in other side effects between two groups. The response rate of the hyperfractionated radiotherapy group was better than that of the conventional fractionated group(100% VS 76.19%,P﹤0.05).There was no significant different between two group in 2-year cumulative survival rate(92% VS 52%).Univariate and multivariate analysis showed that the tumor response to external irradiation is the only factor affecting the prognosis(P﹤0.01).[Conclusion] Hyperfractionated radiotherapy did not increase the radiation reaction,on the other hand its survival rate was higher than the trend of conventional radiotherapy.Hyperfractionated radiotherapy may be one of the methods of cervical cancer radiotherapy.
