On the Confucian Thought of Education Innovation

Confucius was an outstanding thinker,politician in ancient China,and a great educational reformer in Chinese educational history as well.Conforming with the demand of the time,he initiated privite schools,favored without discrimination and reformed the educational system.He revised the Book of Songs,the Spring and Autumn,and set up the ceremony-music.To reform teaching content,he used Six Classics as the chief teaching materials.He advocated subject-specific teaching and held that the students develop harmoniously in morality,intelligence,physique and aesthetic ability.He pursuited heroically and put forward a lot of new educational thoughts,teaching principles and methods,leaving behind rich and valuable educational heritage.Confucius' thought of educational reform is closely related to his proressive political and philosophical ideas.
