Abstract
Objective: To investigate the protective effect of Zingiber and its role on hepatic ischemia reperfusion injury in rabbits. Methods: Eighteen healthy rabbits were randomly divided into the following three groups: six rabbits were served as pseudo-operation normal control group(group C,n=6),six rabbits were served as hepatic ischemia reperfusion injury model group(group IR,n=6),and six rabbits were served as Zingiber group(group ZGB,n=6)(1.4g/ kg).The MDA content and GSH-Px activity in the liver of each group were detected, and the content of ALT in the serum was also examined. The injury circumstance of the liver tissue in each group was compared by optical microscope. Results: The MDA level in the liver and the content of ALT in the serum of hepatic ischemia reperfusion injury model group were evidently higher than those in pseudo-operation normal control group(P0.05),and the GSH-Px vim in the liver was decreased(P0.05).Compared with the hepatic ischemia reperfusion injury model group, the MDA level in the liver and the content of ALT in the serum of Zingiber group were evidently decreased(P 0.05),while the GSH-Px vim in the liver is increased(P0.05).The change could be observed by the optical microscope in which liver cell injury of the Zingiber groups was evidently slighter than that of the hepatic ischemia reperfusion injury model group. Conclusion: The Zingiber had a prominent protective effect on hepatic ischemia reperfusion injury in rabbits.
