Abstract

[Objective] To analyze the change of monoamine neurotransmitter content in different brain regions in rats with spleen deficiency treated with Sijunzi decoction and explore the treatment mechanism. [Methods] Sixty rats were randomly divided into three groups:control group, model group and treatment group. The 5-HT and DA content in hippocamp, hypothalamus and corpus striatum were measured with high performance liquid chromatograph. [Results] Compared with control group, the content of 5-HT in rats with spleen deficiency was significantly ascended, and the content of DA significantly descended (P0.05). After treatment with Sijunzi decoction,5-HT and DA came back to normal. Compared with spleen deficiency rats, the content of DA was significantly ascended in rats of treatment group(P0.05). [Conclusion] There is a consanguineous relationship between spleen deficiency syndrome and rats' monoamine neuro-transmitter. Spleen deficiency syndrome appears the central mechanism. Sijunzi decoction can be used to treat the patients with spleen deficiency syndrome by regulating monoamine neurotransmitter.
