Abstract

OBJECTIVE To understand drug resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa(PAE) isolated form clinics, and to guide the reasonable use of antibiotics.METHODS A total of 264 strains of PAE submitted form various departments from Jan 2008 to Dec 2009 were collected for drug susceptibility test, the results were analyzed.RESULTS Of 264 PAE strains,36.0% distributed in ICU,department of cerebral surgery(24.0%),Respiratory medicine(20.7%),urology(4.2%),endocrinology 3.4% and others 10.9%;the drug resistance rates of PAE to commonly used antibiotics were: amikacin(17.4%),imipenem(20.8%),meraopenem(18.9%),ceftazidime(34.9%),ceftriaxone(34.9%) and cefotaxime(67.8%),and were highly sensitive to piperacillin/sulbactam,cefoperazone/sulbactam,amikacin and levofloxacin.CONCLUSION PAE has various resistance degrees to commonly used antibiotics. The monitoring to its resistance should be strengthened to reasonably use antibiotics.
