Abstract
The complexes of europium with camphoric acid and 1,10 phenanthroline and lanthanum and yttrium doped complexes have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and IR.The compositions of the complexes have been comfrmed to be RE_2(CA)_3(phen)_2(RE : Eu,La,Y;CA : camphor acid;phen: 1,10-phenanthroline).The three-dimensional fluorescence spectra show that the optimum excitation line is 330.0 nm,at which the emission spectrum show the characteristic spectrum of europium and produces three lines, namely ~5D_0→~7F_0(579 nm),~5D_0→~7F_1(594 nm),~5D_0→~7F_2(612 nm),in which ~5D_0→~7F_2(612 nm) is the strongest. The changes in fluorescence intensity indicate that the fluorescence intensity of europium does not reduce after doping with lanthanum and yttrium, showing that lanthanum and yttrium have sensitization effect on the fluorescence emission of europium.
