Modernization and Future Development of Chinese Culture

Abstract

Youlan Feng analyzed the discussions on the Chinese classic culture in the term of modernization in Xing Shi Lun.He believed that the future of the Chinese culture will be an organic combination of modernization and nationalism.He emphasized that this modernization isn't equal to Westernization or Europeanization.It needs not only to finish the transformation of the culture type,but also to keep the native character.His opinion overcame the limitation of the overall Westernization and the Chinese-center position,and it becomes a theoretical treasure for posterity to think the relation between the Chinese Culture and the Western Culture.
