Abstract

Objective To evaluate the application of non-typical acute appendicitis application by the 16-slice spiral CT with 3D reformation technique. Methods 60 cases of non-typical acute appendicitis proven by surgery and pathology were enroled in this study.16-slice spiral CT scan and the 3D reformation with a 1.25mm slice thickness was retrospectively performed. The CT image analysis of the acute appendicitis was reviewed at various angles. Results In the study,58 cases of 60 patients undertaken the MSCT were conformed by the surgery and pathology with the accuracy of 96.6%(58/60).The images of appendix were clearly displayed on the CT images with 3D reformation. The imaging features of clinically non-typical acute appendicitis were clearly demonstrated. Conclusion MSCT with 3D reformation techniques can be used to diagnosis of non-typical acute appendicitis.
