The value of non-enhanced MSCT in the diagnosis of acute appendicitis

Abstract

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of non-enhanced MSCT in acute appendicitis.Methods The data of preoperative non-enhanced MSCT image on 79 patients with acute appendicitis confirmed by surgical and pathology were analyzed retrospectively.Results Seventy-six of the 79 patients were correctly diagnosed on MSCT;MSCT for acute appendicitis diagnosis accuracy rate of 96.2%.Conclusion MSCT can be more intuitive to show changes in the appendix itself and the surrounding tissue and other complications,especially in the diagnosis of appendicitis on the special position,which provided significant information in the clinical diagnosis and treatment.
