Abstract
ObjectiveTo investigate the correlation between the expression of E2F1 gene and the role development of pathological scar compared with normal skin and normal scar tissues, and to elucidate the biological effects of E2F1 in tumorigenic process. Methods E2F1 mRNA of normal skin, normal scar, hypertrophic scar and keloid tissues were detected with RT-PCR.Results The expression levels of E2F1 mRNA in hypertrophic scar and keloid tissues were much higher than those of normal skin and normal scar. Conclusion It is indicated that the expression of E2F1 is increased in the hypertrophic scar and keloid.E2F1 overexpression may play an important role in the proleferation of fibroblasts and in the development of pathological scar.
