The Application of Clinical Nursing Pathway for Patients in Different Languages in Health Education

Objective To enhance the quality of health education and to assure the patients of different ethnic groups to share timely and effective health education.Methods Health education was conducted among 120 patients of laparoscopic cholecystectomy(60 Uygur and 60 Han) using clinical nursing pathway in the two languages during May and October,2007.A self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate the postoperative recovery of self-care ability,prehension of health knowledge before and after hospitalization and the satisfaction degree over nurses.SPSS 11.0 was used to analyze the data,using two matching samples of t-test and the standard test α=0.05.Results After health education with clinical nursing pathway in two difference languages,the degrees of prehension and compliance among the patients of the two ethnic groups were increased and so it was with their satisfaction degree over nursing work.Conclusion The health education conducted by clinical nursing pathway in different languages is effective.
