Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the protective effect of compound injection salvia miltiorrhiza retrobulbar injection in retinal ischemia reperfusion(RIR) applied by retrobulbar injection. METHODS Increasing the intraocular pressure with anterior chambers infused liquid induced the models of Retinal ischemia reperfusion of rats, and they were random divided into defended group and control group. A retrobulbar injection of compound injection salvia miltiorrhiza was performed at a dose of 0 05ml at 30 min before retinal ischemia in the defended group and normal saline 0 05ml in the control group. Their elctroretinography (ERG) and light microscopy observation were performed at 30 minutes, 24 hours or 72 hours in 60 minutes when ischemia had been persisted. RESULTS The amplitudes of standardization b-wave was higher in the defended group than in the control group ( P 0 01). The histopathologic damages of retina were not severe in the defend group than in the control group.CONCLUSION Retrobulbar injection of compound injection salvia miltiorrhiza may be effect on protection from retinal damages induced by RIR.
