Abstract

Objective To study the expression of MTS1 and CD44V6 in gastric cancer and its clincial significance. Methods MTS1 and CD44V6 gene products were observed in 65 cases of gastric cancer with LSAB immunohistochemical methods. Results Expression of MTS1 was positively related to the prognosis of patients, and negatively related to invasion depth and lymph node metastasis.Expression of CD44 was positively related to the invasion depth and lymph node metastasis, and negatively related to the prognosis of patients. Conclusion MTS1 and CD44V6 may play some roles in the development of gastric cancer, and were related with partial biological behavior.Expression of MTS1 and CD44V6 may serve as an important molecular-biological indicator of diagnosis and prognosis in gastric cancer.
