Abstract

Objective To investigate the behavioral characteristics of MSM in Longgang,so as to explore its intervention strategies. Methods Time-location sampling(TLS targeted to places based on good working) and respondent-driven sampling(RDS tended to MB and low-income MSM) were used for questionnaire survey. Results Altogether 326 MSM from across the country with higher mobility and higher educational level participated the questionnaire survey.Five MSM came from Hong Kong and Macao, accounted for 1.5%.43.9% MSM had been living in Shenzhen less 1 year. The percent of AIDS-related knowledge for MSM achieved to 86.2%.45.2% MSM had bisexual behaviors and 38.0% had more than 10 sexual partners in the last 6 months.58.3% rarely used condoms when having sex with women, and the percents of condom use during anal sex with regular sexual partners, casual sexual partners and commercial sex partners were 56.6%,62.0% and 63.4%,respectively.Conclusions Multiple sex partners and unprotected high-risk behaviors exist commonly in MSM population, with a separation of AIDS knowledge and behavior.More attention should be paid to the intervention skill and its depth, moreover, the intervention should focus on increasing condom use during high-risk sex.
