Expression of P53 and PCNA in gastric carcinoma detected by tissue microarray

Abstract

Objective To study the correlation between the expressions of P53 and pro-liferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA) and biological behaviors of gastric carcinoma.Methods Expression of P53 and PCNA were detected in 71 cases of gastric cancer by tissue microarray and immunohistochemical staining.Results The expression rates of P53 and PCNA in gastric carcinoma were 39% and 69%.The positive expression of PCNA in cancer specimen had no relativity significance with the location of cancer,the clinical stage,the lymph node metastasis and the level of differentiation.The positive expression of P53 correlated with the lymph node metastasis and the cancer location significantly(P0.05),but did not correlated with the clinical stage and the level of differentiation.Conclusion The positive expression of P53 and PCNA probably correlated with some biological behaviors of gastric carcinoma.
