Expression of CD40,PCNA on Human Bladder Transitional Cell Cancer and Their Clinical Significance

[Objective] To investigate the expression of CD40、PCNA in bladder transitional cell cancer(BTCC)and normal bladder tissues,and study their clinical significance.[Methods] Immunohistochemical method was used in detecting the expression of CD40,PCNA in 56 cases of BTCC and 20 cases of normal bladder tissues.The investigation included:①the relationships of CD40 and PCNA to BTCC in various pathological grades and clinical stages;②whether there was correlation between CD40 and PCNA.[Results]①The expression rate of CD40 、PCNA in BTCC was 66.1%、64.3% respectively,and there were significant differences compared with that in the normal bladder tissues.②The expression rate of CD40 in well-differentiated 、superficial BTCC was 91.7%、83.3% respectively,higher than poorly-differentiated 、invasive BTCC.The expression rate of PCNA in well-differentiated、superficial BTCC was 33.3%、52.8% respectively,lower than poorly-differentiated 、invasive BTCC.③Significant negative correlation was found between CD40 and PCNA in BTCC.[Conclusion] CD40 may play an important role in the carcinogenesis of BTCC and may become a useful index to diagnose and evaluate the malignancy of BTCC.
