Abstract

The basal media, TDZ, the types and concentrations of auxin were used to compare their effects on adventitious shoots induction from leaves of pear (Pyrus ussuriensis Maxim. cv. Manyuanxiang) by using the orthogonal experiment design of L16(45). The results showed that the basal media played a vital role in inducing the adventitious buds, followed by plant growth regulators through comparison of bud regeneration rates and buds per leaf regenerated. 74.8% regeneration rate and 4.40 buds per leaf were achieved on the medium of NN69+TDZ 3.0 mg/L+IAA 0.2 mg/L. The basal and apical leaf sections were more effective than middle leaf sections in inducing adventitious buds.
