Clinical curative effect of montelukast on cough variation asthma(cva) in children

Objective To investigate the clinical curative effect of Montelukast taken orally on cough variation asthma(CVA)in children.Methods All the 50 examples aged from 6-14 years old diagnosed CVA were divided into treatment groupand control group randomly.The children in treatment group took Montelukast orally 1 time a day(5 mg/time)and inhaled Budesonide Aerosol qd(each time 1 spurt,content 200 μg),and those in control group inhaled Budesonide Aerosol bid(each time 1 spurt,content 200 μg)only.Both groups were observed for 8 weeks.The recurrence rate of CVA was also investigated at the follow-up of 6 months.side effects were recorded before and after treatment.Results Both of the groups could reduce symptoms such as cough,there was not different between the two groups after treatment.Conclusion Montelukast has positive effect on CVA in children and can reduce the dose used of the latter.
