Abstract

Objective To evaluate montelukast sodium in the treatment of cough variant asthma(CVA) clinical efficacy. Methods All 42 cases of CVA patients were randomly divided into two groups which were based on inhalation of salbutamol aerosol therapy. On this basis, the addition of montelukast sodium(observation group) and budesonide aerosol(control group) respectively.Compared the efficacy between two groups after treatment. Results The clinical remission time in the observation group was(7.1 ± 4.0)d,the control group was(6.3 ± 3.9)d,the difference was no statistically significant(P0.05).CVA recurrence rate of the observation group was 9.1% and the control group was 5.0%,the difference was no statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion Montelukast sodium in the treatment efficacy of CVA is as effective as inhaled steroids, and less side effects and good compliance, worthy of promotion.
