A Research on Economic Growth Characteristics in Qingyang Based on the Shift-share Method

Qingyang,subjected to the influence of geographic conditions,environment bearing pressure,the economic basis and other factors,has suffered a long period of low economic development,belongs to the areas of poor progress in Gansu province.While its economic development has changed significantly in last ten years,it has obtained rapid growth.In the new historical opportunity for development,the objective analysis of its economic growth motivation,competitiveness and structural features,and the accurate assessment of the quality of economic growth have great significance on choosing and cultivating a dominant industry timely,optimizing industrial structure,improving the quality of economic development,promoting economic rapid and continuous development.By using shift–share method and making use of the information of Gansu province and Qingyang city's economic development in 2000 and 2007,this paper takes Gansu province as a reference area to analyze the economy development foundation and the growth situation of all sectors in Qingyang city from the three aspects of three industries,agriculture and industry,overall evaluates the regional economic growth competitiveness and structure characteristic,and puts forward the corresponding measures for industrial development.
