Abstract
Objective To study the expressions of survivin in myeloid tissue of patients with acute leukemia and its relationship to clinical therapy effect. Methods Survivin gene expressions were detected in myeloid tissues of 57 patients with acute leukemia(AL) before and after treatment by the method of RT-PCR.The level of surviving gene expression in patients with acute leukemia was compared to that in the normal control group. Results The survivin expression in the incipient AL patients was significantly higher than that in the normal control group. The remission rate of non-lymphocytic leukemia with higher survivin expression after treatment was significantly lower than that with lower survivin expression. The survivin expression was irrelevant to remission rate of lymphocytic leukemia after treatment. Conclusion The survivin expression is higher in myeloid tissue of patients with acute leukemia than that in normal persons.Survivin can be used as an index to judge clinical therapy effect and prognosis of AL.
