Abstract

A study of English is actually a study of culture.To learn a foreign language well,a good understanding of culture of the target language is necessary,in particular,the differences between the native and the target languages. From the perspective of cultural connotation,this paper analyses the contrast between English words and Chinese,which definitely contributes a lot to a successful intercultural communication.
