Clinical significance of changes of ET-1 /CGRP in different blood pressure grade in essential hypertension

Objective To illustrate the effects of endothelin-1(ET-1) and calcitonin gene related peptide(CGRP) in different blood pressure grade in essential hypertension.Methods The study was carried out on 120 patients with EH according to the 1999 WHO/ISH Guidelines for the management of Hypertensian.The patients with EH were divided in three groups: grade one(n=40),grade two(n=40) and grade three(n=40).40 healthy subjects were recruited as normal controls.The plasma levels of ET-1 and CGRP were measured.Results EH patients with different blood pressure grade with plasma ET-1,CGRP concentrations were compared with the normal significant difference(P0.01),each group ET-1,CGRP pairwise comparisons were statistically significant(P0.05).With the progress of EH CGRP decreased progressively,plasma ET-1 was progressive increase.Conclusion With the progress of EH CGRP decreased progressively,plasma ET-1 was progressive increase,and correlate to the severity of the disease,measuements of their plasma concentrations help to pre-dict these verity of the disease.
