Abstract
Based on the remarkable sensitivity enhancement effect of Co~(2+) on Cd,a new chemical vapor generation system of Cd-KBH_(4)-NaIO_(3)-HCl was developed for the determination of trace Cd in foodstuff samples by atomic fluorescence spectrometry(AFS).Under the optimized chemical and instrument conditions, the dosage of Co~(2+),as a signal enhancement reagent, was optimized. The interference from Cu,Ni,Zn,Mn,Au,Pt,Pd,Sb,Hg and Fe on the determination of Cd in this system and their elimination were also studied. The detection limit of the method is 0.035 μg/L for Cd.The method has been applied to the determination of trace Cd in national standard foodstuff samples and the results are in agreement with certified values with precision of 4.84% RSD(n=12).
