Abstract
The index system of valuing a city's economic development level is established by using present statistical data, and the principal component analysis is used to evaluate the regional economic development level in 2004 in Tianjin. The result disclosed that the economic development level vary greatly amongst the cities and counties. According to the conclusion, the causes are analysed and the development strategies are provided.
