Glinical research of Donepezil in Vascular Dementia

Abstract

Object:To compare the efficacy and safety of Donepezil and piracetam in patients with Vascular dementia. Method:64 patients with VD were divided into two groups in random. The donepezil group(17 male, 13female, mean age 65±3)is treated with donepezil(5mg,po. qd×12wk). The control group(15 male, 19 female, mean age 67±6) is terated with piracetam. or piracetam (80mg, po, Tid×12wk). Efficacy was assessed by the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) and activities of daily livign scale (ADD. Result:The MMSE scores is higher in Donepezil group. Conclusion: Donepezil is a kind of effective and safe durg in Vascular Dementia.
